Opening in 2011, Ram’s Gate Winery was designed by world-renowned architect Howard Backen, who has created a modern reinterpretation of the weathered farmsteads of old Carneros, complemented by the work of internationally acclaimed interior designer Orlando Diaz-Azcuy. Backen’s signature farmhouse aesthetic and keen ability to blend the indoor and outdoor connects Ram’s Gate’s 21,000 square feet to its breathtaking surroundings.
Situated at the historic gateway to the Carneros wine region, Ram’s Gate was created with the belief that in a world obsessed with making things faster, where speed is valued above all else, a delicious wine is the way to press pause — to savor that which we love most.
Amidst sweeping views of the surrounding vineyards, we focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sourced from exceptional Sonoma County vineyards, from our Carneros Estate to the Russian River Valley.
Head Winemaker Jeff Gaffner brings to Ram’s Gate a legacy over 30 years in the making. Assistant Winemaker Luke Stanko joins Gaffner to produce an impressive portfolio of estate and single-vineyard wines, crafted from the grapes of exceptional Sonoma and Carneros vineyards, including Durell, Hudson, Hyde and Ulises Valdez vineyards, as well as the winery’s own 28-acre estate.
Ram’s Gate Winery features small bottlings, averaging 300 cases or fewer, of Sonoma’s signature varietals — Pinot Noir and Chardonnay — along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and sparkling wine.
