Odette Estate Winery

Odette Estate Winery is the newest member of the PlumpJack Family, founded in 2012 and was the former Steltzner Vineyards.

Who is Odette?
She is a fabled princess, mistress and judge. You can find her in history, works of fiction, and even the world of wine. She encapsulates our vision for this property — femininity, strength and power. Odette has been a pivotal character, not only in the literary works such as those penned by Shakespeare and Proust, but also in Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake. In the wine world, Odette was the name of one of the French judges of the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976 when a red wine from Stags Leap District beat out the French competition to take top honors.

18,000 square feet of caves were tunneled through the hillside exiting on the other side. A state of the art small winery was built — it is one of just several in the Napa Valley that feature a living roof — with grasses and plants growing on top. Along with this vegetation, the roof also contains 2,500 square feet of solar cells. The winery is Gold LEED certified.

Odette Estate Winemaker Jeff Owens made history with his 2012 vintage scoring 100 points from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, the first to ever achieve this acclaim in their inaugural release.

Tucked into the dramatic palisades of the Stags Leap District, sits Odette Estate on 45 voluptuous acres. As the newest addition to the beloved region, Odette looks to serve as a “breath of fresh air” to the historic District.

Contemporary architecture and design, paired with a contemporary stance on environmental responsibility, Odette is symbolic of the future of Stags Leap.
