Arkenstone Vineyards is a family-owned, boutique winery founded in 2008 that produces three wines from its estate vineyard on Howell Mountain. Arkenstone Vineyards combines and reflects Ron & Susan Krausz’s love of family and friends, deep respect for the land and lifelong enjoyment of wine.

The heart of the project is the property — a magical site where native obsidian work as well as walls made of local stone built in the 1800’s remind the couple that they are just the latest inhabitants to appreciate and benefit from this land.
Deliberately planted so that the blocks create a palette of wines from which the final blends can be made, the estate vineyards help guide the stylistic choices made in the winery. The Krausz’s spent five vintages learning their vineyard, matching winemaking technique to fruit and tracking each wine’s development, before their first release.
Today, working with Winemaker Sam Kaplan, Arkenstone crafts impeccably balanced wines that clearly bear the mark of the vineyard. Arkenstone wines are built to age, yet their fruit character, balance and fine-grained, focused tannins make them enjoyable upon release.
